Updating, Duplicating, and Deleting Products in the Shop App

Duplicating products

When you add several products with many similarities, duplication can help speed up the entry process and save you time. By copying a product, you can modify specific changes instead of repeatedly filling out the product information.

If you want to add options to a product, such as color or size, then add a variation to the existing product instead of duplicating the product.

When you successfully duplicate a product, you will have an exact copy of the original product. The only thing that will be different is the SKU, it is generated automatically since it must be unique.

To duplicate a product:

1. Click Shop App from your iHeart Business dashboard or from the App Menu in the top left corner of the page.
2. From your Shop App dashboard, click Catalog Products.
3. Open the product you want to duplicate.
4. Click Duplicate Product:
   
5. Modify product details.
6. Click Save.

Updating product details

After you've created products, you can update them to change prices, images, descriptions or any other product details.

To edit a product:

1. Click Shop App from your iHeart Business dashboard or from the App Menu in the top left corner of the page.
2. From your Shop App dashboard, click Catalog Products.
3. Click on the product you wish to change.
4. Update product details.
5. Save changes.

Saved changes take effect immediately in your online store and sync across all your sales channels.

Updating products in bulk

You can update your product catalog in bulk using export and import. You can export the products you want to change, edit them in a spreadsheet and then re-upload them to your store using the import feature.

Once you’ve prepared your CSV file, you can import it into your store:

1. Click Shop App from your iHeart Business dashboard or from the App Menu near the top left corner of the page to view your Shop App Dashboard.
2. From your store Shop App dashboard, go to Catalog Products.
3. Click Import Products.
4. Click Choose file and select the CSV file from your computer.
5. Select the delimiter used in your file (comma, semicolon, or tabulation).
6. Select the character encoding used in your file.
7. Arrange columns (drag and drop) to mimic your file:
   
8. Uncheck the columns that are not used in the file.
9. Use the Skip column option to exclude up to three columns.
10. Check the option Delete all products and categories before import if you want to clear the catalog before import.

This will delete all the products that are in your store. They will be replaced with the products from the CSV file you import.

When your CSV file is uploaded, you’ll see a notification that your file has been imported.

Deleting products from the catalog

You can delete a single product, or delete multiple products at once using a bulk action. When you delete a product, it's permanently removed from the store. Deleted products can't be restored.

If you run out of stock or no longer want to display a product for any reason, but don’t want to permanently delete it from your store, then you can Disable the product availability instead.

If you want to remove a product from a category, you can unassign the product from this category. If you want to remove products from the Featured Products section only, you should remove these products from the default Store Front Page category.

To permanently delete a product from your catalog:

1. Click Shop App from your iHeart Business dashboard or from the App Menu in the top left corner of the page.
2. From your Shop App dashboard, click Catalog Products.
3. Choose a product you want to delete.
4. Click Edit Product, then select Delete Product:
   
5. Confirm you want to delete this product.

To delete several products at once (for example, sample products that are added to the store to show you examples of product setup):

1. Click Shop App from your iHeart Business dashboard or from the App Menu in the top left corner of the page.
2. From your Shop App dashboard, click Catalog Products.
3. Check multiple products in the list.
4. Click Bulk Update above the product list.
5. Choose Delete Selected:
