You can connect your social media profiles to your iHeart Business account so that you can more effectively manage your business' messaging across Facebook, Instagram, Google My Business, and LinkedIn all in one place. Once you connect your social media accounts, you can easily create and schedule social media posts right from your iHeart Business dashboard.
To connect your social profiles, click on the App Bar on the top-left corner of the page, then select Social from the dropdown menu.
Note: If you have never connected any profiles to Social, you will see the setup wizard with steps guiding you through getting started. Complete the setup wizard to begin using the Social App.
Connect Your Social Accounts
On your Social dashboard, select Settings in the sub-menu.
On the Settings panel, select Social Accounts on the left-hand sidebar.
You will then see a list of your existing connected social media accounts. To connect new profiles or refresh all existing profile connections, click Add/Update Account. When you select one of the social media network options, you will be prompted to sign in to your account on the respective network. If you have multiple accounts within each social network, make sure that you use the correct user logins for the profiles you want to connect or refresh.
Connect Instagram
Once you have connected your Instagram profile with a Facebook page, then you can follow the steps below to connect it to iHeart Business:
To connect Instagram, you must have an Instagram business account and that account must also be connected to your relative Facebook Page. This is because Instagram is a Facebook property and all permissions for posting and reporting are managed via the appropriate Facebook user's account. You can learn how to do this before connecting Instagram here.
- After clicking the Add/Update Account button, select Instagram.
- Log in to Facebook as the correct user or select Edit Settings.
- Check the boxes next to the correct Instagram account(s), then click Next.
- Select the correlating Facebook Page you linked to Instagram.
- Make sure you accept ALL permissions requested. Denying any one permission will not grant appropriate permissions to iHeart Business to schedule posts.
- Click Done. When you see a message saying "You've now linked iHeart Business to Facebook," click OK. Instagram will be connected, even though the message only references Facebook.
If the connection was received successfully, then you should see both your Instagram and Facebook profiles in the profiles list.
Refreshing Social Account Connections
Refreshing your connections may be required if you change your password or login credentials, or if a connection expires for any reason. If your connections fail or require updating, it may cause social posts to fail and data to stop aggregating until you have refreshed the connection. You can simply update the connections by reauthorizing or connecting your profiles again. For more details, see the related article for Troubleshooting Social Media Posts Not Publishing. Don’t forget to re-enable profiles if necessary.
NOTE: LinkedIn profile connections expire every 90 days and will require you to reconnect relative accounts.
Enabling and Disabling Profiles
Make sure to enable any and all profiles you want to use within the Social application. This will make profiles available for post scheduling, as well as fetching aggregated report data for the Social Reports tool.
Any disabled profiles will not be used within the Social app. Disabling a previously enabled profile may inhibit scheduled posts and will turn off data aggregation for that specific profile in the Reports. Disabling will not delete any data or posts and can be enabled again at any time.
NOTE: LinkedIn only supports reporting for Organization pages and not for personal profiles. Any enabled personal LinkedIn profiles will be available for posting but not support data usage in reports.
